Prior to his death in 2009, the B-17 Memphis Belle pictured above, was OWNED and piloted during the making of the movie Memphis Belle by our dear friend David Tallichet. Dave flew combat missions with Gene Greenwood and me in the 100th BG. Gene's description of the Buchen mission is "on spot". However, as EZ-Goin's copilit you can learn more about that experience plus other missions we flew, as well as the Top Secret Mach-2 B-58 Hustler, in my book PILOTO, Migrant Worker to Jet Pilot.

Colonel Greenwood, thank you for that piece of information. I have since read your interview, and other fascinating information on the 10th BG web site. Very interesting information, that is the first I have learned about the Germans using suicide attacks against our bombers. Thank you so much for your service, I and my family will always be in your and your fellow patriots debt.

See my artiticle. Its all there in detail. GG Greenwood, Colonel USAF (ret)
